Beckhoff Drive Technology expands again Compact 40 A Servo Drive added to Beckhoff continues to expand its product range in the field of Drive Technology. The highly dynamic and flexible EtherCAT Servo Drive family has been supplemented with the new AX5140. With a rated current of 40 A, the AX5140 fills the gap between the 25 A and 60 A variants in the successful AX5000 series. The highlight of the AX5140 is its high performance with very small dimensions. The addition to the AX51xx range of EtherCAT Servo Drives with a variant that has a rated output current of 40 A means that the series’ single-channel Servo Drives, with rated currents from 1.5 to 170 A, are now even more scalable in terms of performance. The flexible AX5140 is designed for 3-phase operation on 100 to 480 V AC. The range of applications is diverse; the compact Servo Drive can play to its strengths, for example, in the fields of plastics processing, metalworking, in milling and drilling centres, and in extruders. With an identical design to the 18 A and 25 A versions, the AX5140 is an exceptionally compact device in its performance class. Thanks to the integration of mains filters and ballast resistor and the use of a high-performance heat sink, the dimensions have been reduced to a minimum of 300 x 185 x 232 mm (H x W x D). Via the AX-Bridge system, the AX5140 can be combined quickly and simply with additional AX5000 drives to form a top performance multi-axis system. The AX-Bridge accessory combines power supply, intermediate circuit and 24 V DC control and braking voltage. The AX5140 has the same algorithms and controller structures as the other devices from the AX5100 series and is extremely flexible regarding the motors that can be connected. Together with the AM307x Synchronous Servomotors with winding code ‘Q’, for example, it represents a highly dynamic drive module. Additional unchanged features include the equipment with multi-feedback interface, diagnostic and parameter display, as well as digital I/O interface. Safety functions, such as the restart lock, are also integrated in the EtherCAT Servo Drives via the Beckhoff TwinSAFE safety solution. |
