TwinCAT 3.1 – further new features for eXtended Automation

The integration of TwinCAT into Visual Studio® connects the proven Beckhoff automation technology with the standard development environment for software from Microsoft. This interoperability allows worlds to grow together: IT and automation technology in one Visual Studio®, on one PC, with different programming languages, and benefit from the highly deterministic execution of a multi-core PC. The integration of TwinCAT into Visual Studio® also offers the possibility to introduce the source code control procedure familiar from IT into automation technology . Moreover, the possibilities for automatic code generation with the TwinCAT Automation Interface was extended. The well-known TwinCAT Scope is now also integrated in Visual Studio® with configuration and display. In addition, the TwinCAT 3.1 runtime functionality can assign TwinCAT tasks to individual cores of multi-core processors for the execution.
