Beckhoff’s New C65xx Industrial PCs Combine Power and Mounting Flexibility

Powerful cabinet-mount IPCs are equipped with processors up to Intel Core™2 Duo and integrated heat sinks

MINNEAPOLIS, October 2, 2008 – Beckhoff Automation has enhanced its industry-leading range of Industrial PCs (IPCs) with the new C65xx series. Keeping optimum flexibility in mind, the C65xx series is designed to be installed in control cabinets or in the rear panel of control/console housings.

With TwinCAT® automation software and high performance processors up to Intel Core™2 Duo 2.16 GHz, the C65xx becomes a powerful “all-in-one” PLC and motion control system. By integrating this rugged IPC into an existing control cabinet housing, the C65xx series is extremely compact and permits highly flexible push-button configurations and extension options within control enclosures. The IPCs within the C65xx series feature an integrated heat sink for external cooling that reaches ambient temperatures through a suitable cut-out in the panel of the control cabinet. Integrated seals provide a water- and dust-proof IP 67 design from the outside.

The new C65xx series offers users maximum flexibility in terms of Control Panel display configuration. The IPC can be chosen independent of the number and type of control keys or switches on the control cabinet front. The C65xx series’ compact, slimline housing with integrated IPC connections at the rear facilitates a flexible number of buttons in the cabinet front panel, depending on the application.

In addition, this IPC series is available with two kinds of storage options: The C6515 is a solid state PC and can accommodate up to two Compact Flash cards. The C6525 basic model has a hard disk drive (HDD) and can be fitted with a second optional HDD for a RAID system or replaced with a Compact Flash.

Plus, all models have a mini PCI slot which can be used for NOVRAM for fail-safe storage of process data.
